eleuthera

a thousand times i've failed
still Your mercy remains
should i stumble again
still i'm caught in Your grace
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
Your will above all else
my purpose remains
the art of losing myself
in bringing You praise
in my heart, in my soul
i give you control
consume me from the inside out
let justice and praise
become my embrace
to love You from the inside out
everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
and the cry of my heart
is to bring You praise
from the inside out of my soul
Lord my soul cries out
{inside out song lyrics by hillsong}

i had the opportunity to go to eleuthera, bahamas on a mission trip for spring break and it was great! i went as a chaperone which still makes me laugh because i don't feel old enough to be a chaperone. i guess i need to come to grips with the fact that i'm getting old!
the bahamas was beautiful! i have been to the bahamas before a few times as a child, but never to eleuthera. it's an island that is 2 miles wide and 110 miles long. there are a lot of cool things about eleuthera, but the best part for me was the church. the service was alive with the Holy Spirit. it was a great worship experience! i've missed that lately, but i am praying that God will make my worship here as alive as it was in eleuthera.we stayed at camp symonette which is part of bahamas methodist habitat. the camp was all decorated in fun colors and i loved it! the weather was absolutely gorgeous while we were there -- 80's the whole week!we got to eleuthera on saturday and got to spend saturday night playing with the children in the area. this was my favorite night!

while these guys played basketball and soccer with the older kids,these girls played all kinds of games with the little ones. including one of the bigger {little ones} jumping on rachel's back for a piggy back ride and nearly knocking poor rachel to the ground!
most youth trips consist of me being the lone girl chaperone who gets to hang out with reed, michael & drew. i was pretty bummed that reed wasn't going to get to come on this trip, but i was extremely excited when i found out rachel was coming! it was awesome to have another girl to talk to and hang out with. i was especially glad she was there on the morning i woke up with pink eye! she came to the clinic and waited with me {thanks rach!} to get some antibiotic -- which the nurse just gave me. no insurance. no money. she just handed me the medicine and told me how often to use it!
i've been back for 2 weeks and i can honestly say i miss the island life. the walking everywhere lifestyle is definitely something i could get used to. of course, you can't walk everywhere. on those occasions, we took this::
i love the way it is in other countries. no strict time schedules to keep. you do what you need to do to serve the Lord and His people wholeheartedly and the rest falls into place.
and that is my prayer since i've been home. that God will show me where He needs me to serve Him. i want to be obedient to His calling -- whatever that may be. i'm still waiting for guidance, but i know He is going to show me in His timing.
