Our third trip of the summer was to New Orleans, LA for the Senior High Missions trip. We visited lots of places in Nola that are still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Katrina. It has been almost 5 years since the hurricane hit and a large majority of new orleans has yet to be rebuilt. Reed and I were in the same group on this trip which was a lot of fun! We worked in a house in the lower 9th ward putting in subflooring. This definitely came with its challenges, but nothing too tough we couldn't get through it! It was fun for me to watch Reed and Michael put their building "skills" together!! The picture above is from dinner one night at a really cute restaurant near Bourbon St. We saw some
interesting sights on the way to dinner.
Here are a few more pictures from our work week in New Orleans:

It was an eye-opening experience to see how much the city of New Orleans is still suffering from a hurricane that seems to have happened so long ago. If you ever have the opportunity to go to New Orleans to help, I highly suggest you go. The city is still in need of a great deal of help. We had a wonderful time helping the people of New Orleans and seeing God work in the lives of our youth. He is such an amazing God!!
